People across the province woke up to slick streets and snow-covered cars Thursday morning.
Environment Canada is maintaining snowfall warnings in some areas across the province.
La Ronge, Prince Albert, Tisdale and Melfort are all included in snowfall warnings.
There may be some light snow flurries still to come but for the most part this first taste of winter is over.
Environment Canada meteorologist Dan Kulak said Regina is in for some cooler temperatures though.
“The warmest temperature in the next seven days is the nine degrees on Sunday on the Thanksgiving weekend here. Then it drops back a bit again for Monday and Tuesday next week for the four to five degree range,” he said.
As of Thursday afternoon, travel isn’t advised on many highways across the province including sections of Highway 1. Many roads are icy and have poor visibility from blowing snow.
