RCMP have seized 40 pounds of marijuana after a vehicle was stopped in southeast Saskatchewan on Monday.
RCMP said around noon a vehicle traveling eastbound by Percival — 164 kilometers east of Regina — was stopped because it did not slow to 60 km/h when passing an emergency vehicle with its emergency lights on.
After an investigation, the driver was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance. About 40 pounds of marijuana was discovered during a search of the vehicle.
David Wayne Maxim, 51, from B.C., has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Maxim made his first court appearance in Yorkton Tuesday morning.
