An empty space at the north east corner of new Mosaic Stadium will be a place to honour fans, the Roughriders announced Thursday.
It will be called the North East Fan Plaza and will feature three walls of granite, etched with the names of Roughrider fans who contribute at least $300 to the Build the Pride Capital Campaign.
According to the Roughriders, the initiative is “a way to give back to Regina and the province as part of (our) commitment to the construction of new Mosaic Stadium and team facilities.”
The fan plaza will include three granite walls where the names of donors will be displayed. A $300 donation will get you a 0.75 inch tall inscription, $1500 for a one inch inscription and $5000 for a 1.5 inch inscription.
“Over the past couple of years, we have had many inquiries from fans who wanted to support the stadium project,” said Roughrider President Craig Reynolds in a release. “Through working with the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation and the City of Regina, fans will be able to show their support for this incredible new stadium.”
Because the team paired with the South Saskatchewan Community Fund all donations are eligible for a tax receipt.
According to the website, donors will be reducing “the Rider’s stadium financial obligations with the City of Regina.”
