Regina police have arrested a suspect in connection with an October shooting in the Glen Elm Trailer Court.
In a media release Thursday, the Regina Police Service said 23-year-old Michael Tibor Mezaros of Regina was arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder.
The incident happened Oct. 10 at about 10 p.m., when officers were sent to a home in east Regina for a call of a weapons offence. When they arrived, they found a 17-year-old boy who had suffered a gunshot wound to one of his legs.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to hospital. Seven other people in the residence weren’t injured.
Investigators were able to gather evidence that helped them identify the suspect.
Mezaros is also charged with forcible confinement and assault in connection with an incident that occurred between Oct. 10 and 12. In that case, the victim was a 27-year-old man.
Mezaros made his first court appearance on Thursday.
