Nearly 700 people were ticketed for speeding in Saskatchewan school zones in September.
Police, along with SGI, were near schools watching for people breaking the law, which resulted in 689 tickets issued last month.
A total of 678 tickets were issued for speeding, two for drivers failing to yield, four for people walking in front of a vehicle and five for drivers not obeying school bus safety lights.
Across the province there were 6,093 other offences last month. There was a total of 240 impaired-driving related offences, 414 tickets for distracted driving (294 of those for using a cell phone while driving), 446 tickets for inappropriate or no seatbelt/child safety seat, 517 tickets for failing to obey a stop sign or red light and 4,476 speeding tickets.
