Saskatchewan is back in the deep freeze.
Environment Canada issued extreme cold warnings Monday for west-central areas including, Saskatoon, North Battleford, Prince Albert and Meadow Lake.
“Temperatures dropping to -30 C or colder combined with moderate winds will lead to extreme wind chills this evening and overnight near minus 40 C,” the weather agency said.
The cold spell will be short lived.
Temperatures in Saskatoon and Regina will creep back toward normal on Wednesday, with the mercury expected to head into the plus territory by Friday.
