The Regina Police Service has charged a 42-year-old Regina man with a number of offences — including attempted murder — after an incident that allegedly occurred in a taxi Wednesday.
In a media release Thursday, police said they were called to a Regina hospital at about 5:30 p.m., for a report of an injured man. Officers found out the man had been a passenger in a cab who claimed he had been assaulted by another passenger.
The cabbie drove the victim to the hospital, where he was treated for stab wounds. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Police found the suspect in a house in the 700 block of Athol Street. A subsequent search of the house found a BB gun and some drugs.
Among the six charges Trevor Roy Sunshine faces are attempted murder, possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of a scheduled substance.
