University of Saskatchewan Huskies goaltender Taran Kozun will have to dust off his trophy mantle after Canada West’s announcements Wednesday afternoon.
He and two other Huskies received top conference honours. On the women’s side, Huskies captain Brooklyn Haubrich also was honoured Wednesday.
Kozun was named the top player and top goaltender of the 2019-20 Canada West season. It’s the second season in a row Kozun has brought home top goaltender honours for the conference. He also was awarded top USports goaltender in 2018-19.
Kozun won 17 games this season, leading the conference in goals-against average at 1.87, save percentage at .931 and shutouts with five. The Nipawin product also netted the first goal by a goaltender in Huskies history on Jan. 18.
