Danielle Chartier announced Wednesday she will not be seeking re-election in the upcoming provincial election.
A media release Wednesday afternoon stated, “Chartier is a single mother and has realized she needs to spend more time in Saskatoon.”
“Danielle has been a passionate voice for her constituents, never ceasing to stand up for the most vulnerable in Saskatchewan,” said NDP Leader Ryan Meili.
“We want to thank her for her committed service to the people of the province and for the tremendous sacrifices she and her family have made over the years.”
Chartier was first elected in 2009 in a byelection. She has represented Saskatoon Riversdale since then.
She has served as the critic for mental health and addictions, as well as seniors and SaskEnergy.
