There is nothing better than a game 7.
I don’t care what the sport is or who is playing, it’s game 7. I don’t know why but I get nervous before a game 7 even though I have no stakes in the result at all.
Now add this to the pile when talking about the World Series game 7 with the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs.
One team hasn’t won in 68 years. It was 1948 for Cleveland. Do you know what was becoming big back then? The television.
Chicago is 50 years beyond that with a championship last celebrated by Cubs fans in 1908. The model T was becoming a pretty big deal thanks to Mr. Ford.
One of these fan bases will be sorely dissapointed. Likely ending tonight thinking it’ll be another 60 or 100 years until the next time their team gets a chance to win again.
And to think Leafs fans are distraught over a little 50-year drought.
Tickets are being sold for tens of thousands of dollars for fans to be a part of a historic moment for one of these franchises.
It’s a little too bad both teams can’t win this one. For those who do, it will be a celebration for the ages, and that’s not overstating it at all.
