A 27-year-old Regina man is facing 14 charges after a number of incidents in the city, including a home invasion in which a man was shot in the foot.
That incident occurred March 13 in the 1900 block of Montreal Street, where a 38-year-old man was shot by someone who broke into a home.
The Regina Police Service’s Street Gang Unit identified a suspect and he was was found Sunday evening in the 1200 block of 10th Avenue East.
The suspect tried to run away from officers and, while doing so, threw down a backpack he had been carrying. He was arrested a short distance away. A search of the backpack found a sawed-off shotgun and a second gun.
The man is facing 13 weapons-related charges and one of breaking, entering and committing an indictable offence.
He made his first court appearance Monday.
