One man is dead after a house fire Monday in Goodeve.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Melville and Ituna detachments and members of the Melville Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a home in Goodeve on Monday at about 2 p.m.
“The residence was completely engulfed by flames by the time the first responders arrived,” the RCMP said in a media release. “Entry into the residence to search for occupants was not possible due to the intensity of the flames.”
After the fire was out, firefighters found the man dead inside the house. His identity will be determined by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
Saskatchewan’s fire commissioner is investigating the cause of the fire, but the RCMP said the fire isn’t considered suspicious.
Goodeve is about 30 kilometres northwest of Melville.
