More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Premier Scott Moe’s remarks on Wednesday regarding big events like concerts and sports were a sobering reminder that we’re likely months away from the potential of 20,000 fans packed into a stadium to watch football here in Saskatchewan.
Think how quickly the province moved on limiting events to 250 people, then 50, then 25, then 10. It was a week or two and it’s going to take a lot longer to get back to 250, let alone 20,000.
We may see a step forward in the coming weeks to 25 people or so and the province will want to monitor that closely to see if there is a sudden rise in COVID-19 cases.
My best guess would be that would happen sometime in May if the cases stay low in Saskatchewan for the rest of April like they have been this week.
Moe was clear a major event like a football game is still months away from even being thought about.
It’s going to feel like the turtle versus the hare. Slow and sure will win this race. Fast and careless will lead us right back to another few weeks or months of self-isolation.
Patience will absolutely be a virtue.
