A 29-year-old woman died in a collision Monday that caused a major Saskatchewan highway to close for several hours.
The RCMP first responded to reports of a serious crash on Highway 2 on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
A vehicle travelling north collided with a semi-tractor trailer travelling south.
The woman was the lone person in the vehicle and was declared dead on the scene. The driver of the truck wasn’t injured.
EMS, Saskatchewan RCMP traffic reconstructionists, Moose Jaw Fire Department, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, Ministry of Highways and Saskatchewan Coroners Service all attended the scene.
The highway reopened in both directions around 9:30 p.m.
Neither alcohol nor drugs is believed to be a factor at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
