The Regina Police Service seized about 300 grams of fentanyl after a traffic stop on the Trans-Canada Highway just west of the city on Thursday.
According to police, officers from the Regina Drug Unit and uniformed members stopped a vehicle on the highway. A search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the seizure of fentanyl and about $1,500 in cash.
Four people, all from Calgary, were arrested and charged with a variety of offences.
Drug bust in Estevan
Two men and two women are facing charges after a 15-month-long investigation into drug trafficking in the Estevan area.
Regina police said its officers were joined in the investigation by the unit now known as the Integrated Crime Reduction Teams, the Estevan Police Service, the Estevan RCMP, the Saskatoon Police Service and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST).
The investigation started in January of 2019 and looked into drug trafficking offences alleged to have occurred between November 2016 and November 2019.
After search warrants were executed, four adults from Estevan were arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine. One of the men and one of the women also are facing weapons-related charges.
