Normally Ag in Motion draws crowds of more than 30,000 people to see the latest in agriculture innovations at a pop up city near Langham.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this years farm expo will be a lot different.
It’s moving online with Ag in Motion Discovery Plus.
The digital platform will allow for interactive content, demonstrations, contests, chats and show specials, according to a media release.
“We considered such things as limiting group sizes within the show site, distributing hand sanitizer to every attendee, ramping up cleaning protocols, and more. But when it came down to it, the risk is too high for our guests and staff,” Ag in Motion Show Director Rob O’Connor said in the release.
The event, which is free to farmers, is scheduled for July 21-25, 2020.
Switching to an online platform was necessary to move ahead with the 2020 event.
“COVID-19 has caused so much uncertainty and taken away our choice to gather together and learn in the ways that we are used to,” O’Connor explained. “So, we rolled up our sleeves to find innovative solutions.”
Some of those solutions include video series for equipment demonstrations.
A machinery expert will get behind the wheel of high-clearance sprayers and UTV’s and provide commentary, the release said.
People who purchased show tickets for Ag in Motion will receive a refund in the coming weeks.
