8:30 – With a report by the Canadian Forces calling attention to the terrible condition in Ontario care homes, former Health Authority CEO Dan Florizone says it’s time for reform in Canada’s long-term care facilities. Four in five of Canada’s COVID-19 deaths have been long-term care residents, and Florizone says the system is badly in need of reform. Florizone says the system should move away from its institutional model and try to replicate the home environment as closely as possible.
