Rush turned an 8-3 fourth quarter deficit into a 9-8 victory in its home opener.
Regina was battered by strong winds Tuesday night during a thunderstorm, with gusts lashing out at 91 kilometres per hour at the airport.
“It’s a typical phenomenon on the prairies. So yesterday we just had a low-pressure system moving through that helped trigger thunderstorms in the area,” said Shannon Moodie, a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

However, Moodie said that was the worst of it, as there wasn’t any hail reported.
“(There was) not so much in the way of rainfall totals. Moose Jaw reported about 10 millimetres. In Regina, (there was) about two to five millimetres,” she said.
Some damage was observed. Photos on Facebook showed some wind damage to a partially constructed house in the Creeks area of the city.
