An arrest in the Varsity View neighbourhood Saturday night ended with a woman charging at police and being tasered.
Around 8:20 p.m. police arrested a man at an apartment building in the 1300 block of Temperance Street for breaching court conditions. As they left they say a woman, who knew the man, charged them with what they describe as an “edged weapon”.
When she didn’t obey commands to drop the weapon police used a “conducted energy weapon”.
The 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
She’s facing two charges of assaulting a police officer with a weapon.
The incident is set to be reviewed.
