A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for areas of southeastern Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued the alert Thursday for areas around Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling, Wawota, Yorkton, Melville, Esterhazy, Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Bienfait, Stoughton, Estevan, Weyburn, Radville and Milestone.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” the alert read.
“A trough of low pressure tracking across eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba is expected to trigger scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms could reach severe limits.”
