8:30 – As Saskatchewan kicks off the newest phase of the re-opening plan, we’re catching up with fashion icon and chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab to find out the best practices we should be following and how he’s feeling about the progress we’ve made so far.
LIVE: Dr. Saqib Shahab, Chief Medical Health Officer for Saskatchewan.
10:00 – Ken Coates, writing for the McDonald-Laurier Institute, says Canadians have a simple decision to make in the near future: will we support the oil and gas industry, or shut it down? Coates says half-measures don’t leave anyone satisfied, and hurt the people who depend on Canadian energy for their livelihoods. Coates says our decision will become clear as Canada works towards economic recovery from COVID-19, and the half-hearted support for the industry from the Liberal Cabinet so far has not done much for the sector. Coates joins Gormley to discuss the future of Canadian energy and how it ties into the post-COVID economy.

11:00 – Landlords in Saskatchewan are calling on the provincial government to lift its ban on evictions. The ban was put in place March 26 to protect tenants who may be experiencing shortfalls during COVID-19, but according to the Saskatchewan Landlords Association the ban has already left landlords owed more than $30M and many will be forced to sell their properties entirely. Cameron Choquette, executive officer with the Saskatchewan Landlords Association, joins Gormley to tell him more. Do you think the eviction ban should be lifted? 12:00 – For the first time in forty years, all of the upcoming missions heading to Mars will look for signs of ancient life on the red planet. Space journalist Elizabeth Howell conducted more than 100 interviews with NASA scientists and experts on Mars to write “The Search for Life on Mars: The Greatest Scientific Detective Story of All Time,” which is described as “the definitive account of our quest to find life on the Red Planet.” Howell joins Gormley to discuss the search for extraterrestrial life on Mars and the newest contributions to that effort.
