A number of people in Regina spent time in the back of a police vehicle on the weekend.
On Sunday at about 7:30 p.m., the Regina Police Service sent officers to the 900 block of Victoria Avenue for a report of a robbery. A man armed with a weapon had entered a business and demanded money from employees.
Officers found a man nearby and arrested him. The 26-year-old is to appear in court Monday.
On Saturday at about 1:30 a.m., police arrested an 18-year-old man suspected in a Canada Day robbery at a business on Prince of Wales Drive near Victoria Avenue.
He faces various gun offences. Police also charged him with a break-in at a nearby shopping district last Tuesday.
Later Saturday, officers showed up at a home at 100 Procter Place.
They arrested a 22-year-old man wanted in a shooting that happened May 2, when gunshots were fired after an argument. That incident took place on Fifth Avenue near Elphinstone Street.
The man was charged with assault and reckless discharge of a firearm.
A breakthrough was also made on a robbery that occurred March 3 at a business in the 1800 block of Victoria Avenue East.
That night, police say two people grabbed merchandise and, when confronted, brandished a knife.
Police arrested a 19-year-old man as well as a 17-year-old boy.
Finally, police made a traffic stop on Elphinstone near Dewdney Pool. Before officers approached the vehicle, they say one of three people inside fled.
Police say they spotted a can of what appeared to be pepper spray or bear mace. After a search, officers seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun, an electric cattle prod or stun gun, several large knives and ammunition.
They arrested two men, aged 34 and 21.
