Two fires caused damage to three homes in Regina overnight.
Regina Fire and Protective Services (RFPS) said it received the initial report of a house fire Thursday at around 10:05 p.m.
Crews reported two houses were on fire in the 900 block of Angus Street near Albert Street.
RFPS deputy fire chief Gord Hewitt said the fire was extinguished quickly, around 10:31 p.m. No one was found inside the homes when they were searched.
A second fire call came in just after 2 a.m., from a home in the 800 block of Garnet Street near Kitchener School.
The fire was reported to be in the basement. When crews arrived, Hewitt said they were able to battle flames outside to enter into the home.
Nobody was found inside. The blaze was controlled by 2:39 a.m., RFPS said.
Both fires remain under investigation. There weren’t any injuries reported from either incident.
The fires took place less than a kilometre away from each other.
“I guess seeing two fires that close together … we don’t see that very often but it certainly happens,” Hewitt said.
