A call about a domestic disturbance Monday night ended with a Regina Police Service officer using a Taser on a 35-year-old Regina man.
According to a police media release, officers were sent to a home in the 1600 block of Ottawa Street just before 11 p.m., for a report of a domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found what they called in the release “an aggressive and violent adult male with a machete.” An officer then used his Taser to subdue the suspect.
The man was assessed at the scene by paramedics and then taken into custody.
He faces charges of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking. He’s to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
