Saskatchewan reported 15 new COVID-19 cases, and 12 newly recovered cases on Sunday.
There are five new cases in the Regina region, one in the northwest, one in the Saskatoon region, one in the central-west, one in the southwest, and three in the south-central zones. For one case the Ministry of Health said the residence information is pending.
Thirteen people are in hospital with seven people receiving inpatient care; three in Saskatoon, one in Regina, two in the South West region and one in South Central. Six people are in intensive care; four in Saskatoon, one in the North Central region and one in the South West.
One case that was reported on July 22 and two cases reported on August 7 are now known to be people who live outside Saskatchewan, so these cases have been removed from the Saskatchewan count and are now being counted on their home province numbers instead.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan to 1,445 cases.
Of the 1,445 reported cases, 168 are considered active. A total of 1,257 people have recovered.
Yesterday, 1,945 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan, close to the high of 2,104 cases performed last weekend.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is reminding people to practice physical distancing, wash hands often, and avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth when in public.
“You should always be aware of who you have been in contact with over the past two weeks,” the SHA said in the news release Sunday.
“If you test positive for COVID-19, these are the people who will need to be contacted by public health.”
