People around the world are remembering Canadian actor Alan Thicke.
Thicke died of a heart attack Tuesday in Los Angeles. He was 69 years old.
C95 radio host Shauna Foster met Thicke in 2015 when he was the celebrity guest at the Silver Spoon dinner in Saskatoon.
Reflecting on the occasion, Foster said Thicke was a celebrity who didn’t disappoint in person.
“When I first walked in the room, I thought, ‘I’m going to love this guy.’ He comes at you with a huge hug and a warm smile and he’s just funny,” she said.
Foster, who was several months pregnant at the time, said Thicke lit up as he spent most of their time talking about his family.
“This was a guy who was ready to give you a big hug and talk to you about what you do in life,” she said.
Thicke is probably best known for his role playing Dr. Jason Seaver in the sitcom “Growing Pains,” which ran on American network ABC between 1985 and 1992.
