Saskatoon police seek suspects in pair of robberies

The Saskatoon Police Service are asking for information on a pair of robberies.

The first happened Friday around 11:50 p.m. at the Mac’s store at 430 Russell Road. A suspect reportedly came into the store and pulled out a baseball bat before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male between five feet, four inches and five feet, six inches tall with blonde hair and light coloured eyes. Police said he was wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black mask.

Police are also looking into an unrelated robbery from just after midnight Monday morning.

A man reportedly took off with cash from a business on the 1000 block of 8th Street. No weapon was seen and no one was injured.

Police sent a K9 unit but couldn’t manage to track down the suspect. It’s believed he may have gotten on a bicycle after initially running away on foot.

The suspect is described as a 60-year-old man, five feet, six inches tall with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he was reportedly wearing jeans and a red winter coat with black sleeves. Police said an officer recovered the jacket after the man threw it off during the pursuit.
