The best ideas are stolen. So with that, I’m stealing an idea from colleague and friend Murray Wood.
In a rip-off of “Who’s hot, who’s not”, here is what was “Good and Bad” about sport in 2016
NFL
Good: Peyton Manning won another Super Bowl. It’s always nice to see a
legend go out on top.
Bad: The media attention 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick
received for not standing during national anthems.
NHL
Good: Sidney Crosby won another Stanley Cup at age 28. He’s at an age
where he can appreciate his accomplishments
Bad: No Canadian teams advanced to the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
MLB
Good: 101-year-old Chicago Cubs fan Virginia Wood got to see her team win the World Series. Her first trip to Wrigley Field was in 1924.
Bad: The Blue Jays’ playoff push again came up short.
CFL
Good: The Ottawa RedBlacks won the Grey Cup for a fan base that loves
their team.
Bad: The Riders.
