The $1.33M rent reduction comes from what the club owed during seasons impacted by the pandemic.
It looks like 2016 will go out on a mild note for Regina – at least weather wise.
980 CJME weather specialist John Wilson is calling for a pretty quiet New Year’s Eve.
“We don’t have too many complications. It will be milder than average, reasonably quiet, no major storms.”
Regina could see flurries Wednesday afternoon and night.
But Wilson said the wind will be the biggest thing to watch for, as it could blow from 40 to 60 km/h.
“At that kind of speed, it can blow this light, fluffy flurry activity we get around,” he said.
“I do expect the wind to simmer down (Thursday) so it won’t be nearly as problematic.”
But Wilson predicts it will really start to feel like winter in Saskatchewan again after the ball drops on midnight on New Year’s Eve – although not immediately.
“I think the middle of next week, by the time we get to the third or fourth (of January) – even earlier than that actually – right after New Year’s, there’s some arctic air going to come down. It’s going to last for a good portion of next week,” he said.
“It looks kind of cold for the first two weeks of January.”
