Braylon Shymr scored his third goal in two days as the Saskatoon Blades pulled out a 3-2 win over Prince Albert.
Mark Rubinchik added his first career WHL goal while Josh Paterson would pot the eventual game-winner.
“That’s the monkey off the back for sure,” said the rookie defenceman from Russia. “It’s a play we do where we look for tips but this time I saw an open corner.”
Brock Hamm made 24 saves in the win as the Blades outshot the Raiders 26-42 while avenging a 5-3 defeat in Prince Albert a night prior.
“We did a lot of good things tonight but we still need to develop that consistency,” said Blades head coach Dean Brockman.
Former Blade Kolten Olynek played his first game in a Prince Albert shirt since being acquired off waivers. The Blades let the overage forward go to make room for Markson Bechtold.
“I’m used to all this stuff now and P-A is truly my second home,” Olynek said, having already played for the Raiders before being picked up by the Blades in October, also on waivers.
With the win, the Blades still sit four points back of Brandon for a playoff spot. They return to action Friday night when they visit the Swift Current Broncos.
