The Moose Jaw Warriors have announced theyβll begin a formal review of the their primary logo, which is a red silhouette of an Indigenous headdress.
The WHL team is the latest sports franchise to grapple with the question of how Indigenous people are portrayed through team iconography.
According to a statement from the Warriors, this has been an internal debate for a while.

As part of the review, the team says it will consult stakeholders and community partners.
While there were some detractors, the teamβs decision was applauded by many online.
