Saskatoon’s Longbranch country bar temporarily closed following possible Oct. 8 exposure

The Longbranch country bar in Saskatoon is temporarily closed, according to a post on its Facebook page.

The post was made Friday and the closure was due to “deep cleaning and sanitization of the facility.”

This comes after a possible COVID-19 exposure at the Longbranch, dated Oct. 8.

In a release, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) recommended anyone who attended the establishment on Oct. 8 to immediately self-isolate and call HealthLine 811 for risk assessment, if they did the following while attending:

• Did not wear a mask
• Did not stick to your household or bubble
• Shared drinks
• Did not social distance from other bar patrons

Those who attended and complied with public health precautions were asked to self-monitor for 14 days.

In Friday’s Facebook post, the Longbranch said “further announcements will follow on our reopening date.”

The Longbranch is the second Saskatoon nightclub to close temporarily due to the coronavirus, as Divas Nightclub said its closure included work with the SHA on a “revolutionary new system.”
