A “Go Fund Me” page has been set up by someone claiming to be the organizer of a party in Moose Jaw last Friday.
Moose Jaw Police said the party at a person’s home exceeded the 15 person gathering limit, and a $2,800 fine was issued to the party’s organizer.
The page, set up by someone named Lucas Howard, indicates that he was the organizer, that he works part-time, has rent to pay, and can’t afford the ticket.
Howard writes “I know the consequences of my actions, and I accept the ticket that I got.”
But the post also indicates the group of people over the age of 18 and that “The party consisted of people that we hangout with all the time.”
And because of that, he claims, “If we were to get covid from one of the people here, we would have already gotten it.”
As of Oct. 16, the province has set a limit of 15 people for all public and private gatherings located on private property.
The limit does not extend to workplaces and areas where people are distributed into multiple rooms.
