The Canadian Football League gave us a plan.
Yes, it was regarding the 2021 CFL draft, but it was a plan.
There were no words like “maybe,” “hoping,” “trying” etc., like we’ve heard from the league over the last three months since Randy Ambrosie called the whole thing off for 2020.
And there needs to be optimism about what is ahead even though the draft plan may seem like small potatoes.
In 10 days — and yes, I’m keeping count — the commissioner will address fans during the Grey Cup Unite virtual festival.
And when you see a bit of news in regards to the 2021 draft, it’s a sign that the work Ambrosie says is going on behind the scenes is moving in the direction all fans want.
So if you were someone doubting Ambrosie says anything concrete about next year, you may be pleasantly surprised.
Because why have a draft, if you’re not going to play?
