The weekend storm continued to affect drivers on some Saskatchewan highways Tuesday.
While the Highway Hotline reported at 9:30 a.m., that all major roads were open, travel was not recommended in the Maple Creek area. That advisory was removed at about 4:30 p.m.
According to the hotline, there are slippery sections on the Trans-Canada Highway from Saskatchewan’s border with Manitoba all the way to the Alberta boundary.
The worst section is said to be from Swift Current to the Alberta border. That stretch of road is open, but it’s reportedly got slushy, slippery sections and snow drifts.
Highways in many areas of the province have slippery sections and packed snow in the driving lanes, while others have what the hotline calls “seasonal driving.”
