Will the national media in the United States continue to ignore Chase Claypool?
Last week, ESPN had a list of the top 10 rookies of the year in the NFL and Claypool was nowhere to be found.
The Canadian with some ties to Saskatchewan scored his 10th touchdown of his rookie season in his 10th career game Sunday.
The last receiver to score that often in that few games of a career did it 60 years ago.
It is a historic season and it was going that way last week, but why no respect? Claypool didn’t go to a small school. He was a standout at Notre Dame.
He doesn’t play for a bad team. He’s on the 10-0 Pittsburgh Steelers.
For Canadians who are missing the CFL and having to settle for watching NFL every weekend, it’s great to see the pride of Abbotsford continue to excel for the best team in football.
Hopefully, he’ll get the credit he deserves down south. If not, maybe the Lou Marsh Award for Canada’s top athlete of the year is in his future.
