The Regina Police Service is still investigating an incident Monday that ended with the SWAT team storming an empty house on Rae Street.
In a media release Tuesday, police confirmed officers responded at around 2:10 a.m., to the 1600 block of Rae after a caller reported seeing a man with a gun in a yard. The caller added the armed man and a woman got out of a vehicle and entered a house.
Officers surrounded the house and eventually got two women to come outside, where they were taken into custody. Police attempted to get in touch with the people believed to be inside, but weren’t successful.
“Emergency Services Teams: Crisis Negotiators, SWAT and Canine were authorized to attend, and eventually SWAT entered the residence, but there was no one left inside,” the police release said. “A search warrant was executed for the residence and the vehicle.”
No charges have been laid, but the investigation is continuing.
