A 32-year-old Regina man who was asked to leave a store for not wearing a mask is facing charges after he allegedly threatened the store’s employees with a knife.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers were called Tuesday at about 9:40 p.m., to a store in the 2100 block of Broad Street.
A police media release says the officers were told a man who had been asked to leave for not abiding by the province’s mandatory mask policy had returned to the store, showed staff members a knife and threatened them.
When officers arrived, the man also allegedly resisted arrest. He eventually was taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count each of possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.
He’s to appear in court Wednesday.
