Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
The Saskatchewan Rush are now 0-2 on the new National Lacrosse League season after a 13-11 loss to Toronto.
Saskatchewan struggled off the hop, at one point trailing the Rock 7-1 and 10-2 at the half.
Nine second half goals would turn the early rout into a close game, but the Rush were held just short.
Robert Church led the way offensively with a hat-trick while Mark Matthews had a pair to go with three assists. Adam Jones, Mike Messenger, Chris Corbeil, Matthew Dinsdale, Ryan Keenan and Chris Knight each added a single.
The Rush make their long awaited home debut on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host Rochester at SaskTel Centre.
