The Ministry of Health is reporting our second highest daily jump in COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan.
In a news release Sunday, it reported 351 new cases of the virus. Coupled with 68 recoveries, the active case total rose to 3,605.
Since March, there have been 8,239 total cases, 4,589 recoveries and 45 deaths.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 250.
The cases reported Sunday were in the Saskatoon (94), Regina (120), northwest (28), north-central (10), southwest (19), southeast (18), central-east (15), far northwest (10), central-west (two), far northeast (eight), northeast (eight) and south-central (10) areas.
The locations of four new cases are still under investigation.
There are 23 people in intensive care units across the province. Two patients in north-central, 13 in Saskatoon, one in the southwest, six in Regina and one in the northwest.
One-hundred and fifteen people are receiving inpatient care at hospitals across the province. One in the far northwest, eight in the northwest, eight in north-central, two in the northeast, 32 in Saskatoon, one in central-east, 21 in Regina, one in south-central and 18 in the southeast zone.
Saturday, 3,826 tests were processed in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of tests to date up to 341,236.
In the release, the province also changed the rules around eating food and drinking in movie theatres.
People can eat and drink in a movie theatre as long as they are sitting down and keeping at least two meters of distance from outside their household.
Saskatchewan’s highest daily COVID case jump was on Nov. 21, where 439 cases were reported.
