A 27-year-old man wanted by Saskatoon police for questioning in an alleged murder has been charged.
Officers are investigating the death of 45-year-old Rodney Wailing, who was found injured in a home on the 200 block of Avenue I South on Jan. 11.
Police identified Daniel Forest as a person of interest in their investigation on Jan. 13.
In a release Monday, police said Forest turned himself in over the weekend.
Forest has been charged with murder; however, court documents didn’t specify whether it was first or second degree.
In the police release Jan. 16, the charge was said to be second-degree murder.
The accused made his first court appearance via video link Monday in Saskatoon.
Forest said he had been asking for a lawyer since he was arrested over the weekend. The judge assured Forest he would see a lawyer before his next appearance on Jan. 31.
