The National Football League season is turning into a gong show because of COVID.
This weekend was shocking, entertaining and aggravating — and you wonder what the heck is going to happen next week.
Let’s see. The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers were supposed to play last Thursday, then Sunday, and now tomorrow. That’s still a maybe, by the way. The Ravens have several players on the COVID-19 reserve list.
The San Francisco 49ers need to find a new place to practise and play their final three home games after Santa Clara council cancelled all contact sports.
Oh, and then the Denver Broncos tried to play their quality control coach at quarterback when all four QBs on the roster were out. One of them tested positive and the others were high-risk contacts because they hung out without masks on.
So instead, they had a practice roster receiver, who played some quarterback in college, complete one pass.
Now, the NFL is strongly considering putting teams in hotel bubbles for the post-season. And all I have to say to that is one simple word. DUH!
