A crash in Regina is being linked to impaired driving.
Regina police are charging a 28 year old man with impaired driving following a crash Sunday night.
Police were called around 10:43 p.m. to Ring Road at the overpass over Dewdney Avenue. The investigation revealed a black GMC truck was travelling southbound on Ring Road and left the road just before the overpass. It travelled down between the northbound and southbound bridges.
In a news release, police indicated the truck “struck the roadway on the north side/ westbound lanes of Dewdney Ave. and then came into collision with the wall and pedestrian walkway on the south side/ eastbound lanes of Dewdney.”
Police said, at that point, there was a second collision between the black GMC truck and a blue GMC truck travelling eastbound on Dewdney Ave.
The driver and the passenger of the eastbound truck were checked by EMS and cleared at the scene. The driver of the black GMC truck was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The accused remains in hospital, and is expected to make his first court appearance in Regina on Feb. 13.
