A Regina woman is on the hook for $2,800 after hosting a gathering of at least eight people.
In a news release Thursday, the Regina Police Service said it received a complaint of a large group of people in a Broadway Avenue apartment Saturday just before 3:30 a.m.
When officers showed up, they found at least eight people inside, higher than the allowed limit of five under COVID-19 public health orders.
They told the woman who lived there she would probably be ticketed.
Police tried to hand out the ticket multiple times, but “initial attempts to serve the ticket were not successful.” It was finally issued Wednesday.
This is the seventh ticket Regina police have given for disobeying COVID measures.
As of Thursday at 12:01 a.m., private indoor gatherings are limited to members of immediate households only. That public health order will be in effect through the holiday season.
