The message wasn’t anti-trump, but a lot of people still had a lot of choice words for new President Donald Trump in Saskatoon.
“I think he is a bigotted, racist, male chauvinist pig,” Heather Paull said. “I’m not a fan whatsoever.”
Over 800 women, children, and even men gathered at City Hall Saturday morning, they then marched along 4th avenue in the downtown core.
It was to show solidarity for the women’s march in Washington, which had 500,000 people.
“We’re really concerned about the direction of politics in North America,” said Leanne Franson, who has a young disabled son. “It feels like we’re going backward and losing rights.”

The many marchers were strong in numbers but chose not to chant during the rally.
“I think a lot of the rhetoric that’s been used lately is very troubling,” Christian Pollock said.
