Kevin Glenn is back in Saskatchewan and Chris Jones shows Rider Nation he’s got a plan at the quarterback position.
Here is the logic: Chris Jones is using this off-season when it comes to a veteran quarterback. The money he would have paid Darian Durant is substantially more than he’s paying Kevin Glenn.
So he saves money to use elsewhere.
With rumblings receiver Duron Carter is signing — that eats up some money — and free agency is up ahead with needs along the offensive line to take up that other cash.
So no Durant equals a veteran insurance policy, a talented receiver — though with baggage — and some more money to spread around.
You see what Chris Jones is doing now with four months ahead to complete this off-season plan.
Now, Kevin Glenn likely isn’t winning you a championship but you know you have a quarterback to give you some time to groom “the next one.”
Monday was a win for Chris Jones, although some fans are choosing to never be happy until actual wins start to come.
