A Regina man is facing a laundry list of charges after both a car and a foot chase Tuesday.
According to a media release, police spotted a stolen vehicle speeding and being driven erratically in the northeast corner of the Eastview neighbourhood around 10:30 a.m. It was found later, parked in the Windsor Place area, and officers also saw a man matching the description of the driver walking nearby.
The man took off running when he saw the police, but he was arrested after “a short foot chase.”
The release says police searched the vehicle and found a loaded gun, “bladed weapons,” and identification that didn’t belong to the driver that was taken into custody.
As a result, a 21-year-old Regina resident has been charged with two counts of possessing a weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a prohibited or restricted gun with ammunition, possessing a gun knowing the serial number has been tampered with, careless storage of a gun, two counts of possessing a gun or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition in a vehicle, dangerous driving, and two counts of possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000.
