Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will speak at a town hall in Saskatoon Wednesday night.
It starts at 6:30 p.m. at Dubé Theatre on the University of Saskatchewan campus.
The venue has space for 500 people – leaving many hoping to attend the event without a seat.
The first 400 people to register on the Liberal Party website were guaranteed a spot.
Erik Nevland initially believed he had a seat, but less than 24 hours later, the U of S student received an email on behalf of federal public safety minister Ralph Goodale.
“After I got the email I was rejected, I was confused because my wife got the same email,” he said. “We had thought we were in and had questions planned to ask the prime minister.”
Nevland now has to join others hoping to get one of the 100 tickets at the door.
“I actually cancelled a few meetings on campus so I could hear Justin Trudeau speak,” he said. “Now I don’t know if that is going to happen.”
Goodale’s office told Nevland he should get to the doors at 5:30 p.m. because there is a large demand.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Goodale noted people who need a sign language interpreter can email his office. He also asked people needing special seating or wheelchair access to arrive 45 minutes early.
