The federal government is ensuring members of the armed forces continue to get the training and equipment they need.
It was announced Wednesday a contract with CAE Inc. for the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) has been extended for an additional two years.
CAE provides flight training services including aircrafts, simulator training, flight simulators, classroom training, training courseware and other supports for flying training at 15 Wing units in Moose Jaw and Cold Lake, Alta.
The contract was set to expire in in 2021 and will now run until at least 2023. There is an option to extend the contract through 2024.
The increase in the contract is valued at more than $300 million.
