After a scoreless first, the Hurricanes scored back to back before Jake Kustra put away his first goal of the season.
On a night where the Blades powerplay went 0 for 7, the eventual insurance marker came on a Lethbridge penalty kill.
Logan Flodell made 27 saves in the loss.
